日本の化粧品

It’s Day 2 of my Japan trip and as a makeup addict enthusiast, I am excited to explore (together with The Beauty Junkee) the streets and shops of a country that is known for high-quality, tech-driven cosmetics. Days before, someone messaged me about what kinds of brands and products I should hoard buy in Japan and I thought it would be nice to share my thoughts on some of the Japanese products available in our country which I’ve had for months and document these for review. Let’s go!

SECOND SKIN BASE

I have always liked how Japanese see skin care and makeup that. I’ve reviewed Kanebo’s BB creams years before at Break My Spell and I really liked how perfecting those are. For sure, I will be repurchasing some powders from Kate (a younger subbrand of Kanebo), ZA and Maquillage (younger subbrand of Shiseido launched 2 years ago in PH), and of course, Shiseido, which is just love!!

I might not be repurchasing Naturactor and I’ll review that in detail because of its low performance in the staying and non-creasing aspect of the product.

Naturactor when exposed to air (Update; these are not rat marks as someone told me this happened to her exposed pot days ago)

FINE PIGMENTS –  COLOR COSMETICS

Shu Uemura is my number one list when it comes to this. I just remember how I loved this brand when I was still in  college and discovered early the colored pigments which was my first beauty-related entry at Break My Spell in 2012. I found similar level of consistency and finish especially of the shimmers from RMK, which also has nice bases.

When it comes to eyes, hands down a 100% to K-Palette (brows), Majolica Majorca Lash King (mascaras), and K-Palette (liners) which is packaged in a very cute limited ed design as you can see below. I’ll try to find options for these categories but I’m very happy with the effects of these on my eye makeup.

SOME SKIN CARE AND MORE

Aside from Shiseido, I haven’t explored much Japanese skin care (except for Cure – for exfoliating – and Bifiesta and Biore – which are high-performing department store brands known for skin cleansing) but I think I will be after reviews of some friends.

I also would like to check out more of Kao’s products here – they’re like one of the top beauty FMCG handling Jergens, Biore, Kanebo, and Liese – which was recently launched in PH – introducing the bubble/foam format for non-drip and easy hair color application.

These samplers which I’ve kept for years! Wanted to buy full-sized ones.

So there’s my list and I’ve been reviewing for months since i booked this trip. Please do recommend some good products and will check them out in Tokyo/Ginza/Shibuya tomorrow!
