Penshoppe thai Superstars Invade Manila
Thai-German model and award-winning actor Mario Maurer is back in the Philippines, this time around with his co-star in the 2010 sleeper hit First Love (A Little Thing Called Love), Baifern Pimchanok. The young, in demand celebrities became wildly popular in the country when local network ABS-CBN received rights to broadcast the film, wisely opting to ‘Tagalize’ it as it aired the following year.
With such a strong Filipino fan base backing them up, as well as an equally strong sense of style, both stars have also gained admittance in Penshoppe’s exclusive roster of international endorsers. Their Thai beauty and style definitely is something that’s really new and exciting for Filipinos.
Baifern is visiting for the first time ever, but Mario can be considered as being well-acquainted with the country, having starred opposite Filipina actress Erich Gonzales in the romantic film Suddenly It’s Magic, and winning Best Actor in the 2008 Cinemanila International Film Festival for his break out role in the gay-themed drama The Love of Siam.
Mario’s strikingly boyish good looks, and cool, free-spirited style also clicked with Penshoppe, and he was officially launched here as the brand’s endorser in 2011, even walking the runways for the brand’s show at Philippine Fashion Week during the same year.
Currently a freshman at the Srinakharinwirot University, gorgeous Thai ingénue, Baifern, is a model and actress whose flirty and feminine fashion (though she can pull off sexy quite well too) also caught the eye of the local retail powerhouse, becoming its ‘muse’ in 2012.
After her turn as Nam in First Love (A Little Thing Called Love), she starred in several Thai films, and played a guest role in Mario’s first Filipino movie Suddenly It’s Magic. She has also been featured in a number of music videos and advertisements in her native country.
On the popular Thai actors, Penshoppe Brand Director Jeff Bascon says, “We love their energy—they have a fresh and youthful vibe that represents what the brand is all about.” He adds, “Mario loves the Philippines, he’s been here before; and Baifern is looking forward to meeting her Pinoy fans for the first time. Everyone’s just excited and we’re happy that we’re able to give Penshoppe fans the opportunity to see and meet them.”
I was really excited with what Penshoppe will give to their Filipino customers aside from bringing these Thai super stars that I really find so pretty and cool! We immediately visited the store right after show and you can see the newest collections featuring the Thai super stars but also witness how Penshoppe slowly transitions to good, quality and really trendy items that’s needed for a cool and casual clothing brand. Way to go, Penshoppe!
