Loving Local and Sweet Pink Sugar

Loving Local and Sweet Pink Sugar

The beauty scene gets a refreshing new addition with Pink Sugar Cosmetics, a homegrown make-up brand bound to take space on every Pinay’s top shelf. It’s a local label Filipina girls will be proud to have in their vanities—a product line that ranges from skin to color cosmetics, quality formulations suited for Filipina skin, and cool packaging that’s fodder for any make-up junkie like me.

From lipstick to liner and everything in between, each Pink Sugar product is extremely pigmented, with a color payoff that makes each swipe worth it.

I got so excited that after the event, it was truly a swatch fest at home. Here are my favorites from the lines which I’ll review soon: Pink Sugar Sugar Tint Lip & Cheek Tint, P349, Pink Sugar Dual Finish Face Powder, P499, Pink Sugar It’s Awesome BB Cream with SPF25, P499, Pink Sugar Our Li’l Secret Concealer, P299, Pink Sugar Sweet Cheeks HD Cheek Color, P499.

And my favorite shade…

It really makes me happy when local brands are stepping up the game when it comes to quality cosmetics that can reach to a lot of us through affodrable prices. What’s also good is that each Pink Sugar product is paraben-free, only containing ingredients that not only beautify, but care for the skin in the process. Make-up, after all, doesn’t need to harm the skin in the prettifying process, but enhance it. Its formulations work around tricky skin, too!

The event c/o Digify celebrated this beauty brand that’s set to appear on your favorite make-up counters (SM Aura, SM Makati, SM Marilao, SM Manila, SM Fairview, SM MOA, SM Clark, SM Lanang Premier Davao and Watsons at Ayala Center Cebu.)

I had so much fun talking and chatting about cosmetics with fellow makeup junkies (and swatching a lot). I forgot to eat my lunch haha.

It was also nice to meet its founders, Laveen Mirpuri, who after four years working and observing female consumerism and beauty habits in Brazil went back home and started his business in the Philippines, and Rohit Mirpuri—a business graduate who co-founded the startup straight out college—ventured into the beauty biz after a successful venture creating body mists. “We believe that the Philippine cosmetics scene is changing. People are smarter with their cosmetic choices,” stresses the duo. Now, they take their penchant for business from perfumery into the world of make-up, after seeing that there was a need to provide regular Filipinas an affordable yet quality brand that does its job without costing too much.

P.S. You can easily get your Pink Sugar products online through Beauty MNL. Let me know your thoughts on your purchases!!
