True Match is one of my favourites when it comes to affordable foundation lines. My review of this at the former blog is actually one my most popular posts (still getting views up to now) and it’s really because of its fantastic formulation. For me, it’s one of those products really that would immediately go to my cart whenever i shop at my nearest department store.
So when L’Oreal Paris said that they will be reformulating my favourite liquid foundation, I thought to myself: How else would you improve that?? The consistency, tint, ease to blend and build have always been great ever since the previous packagings. Plus, a lot more extensions and product lines by L’Oreal Paris, which I got to know more at the launch! See more below. (Hint: BROWS!!)
Let’s first start with the base line! The powders and two-way cake foundations are the same (they’re performing well too!) but my top pick is the liquid foundation. There’s also a concealer line now under the sub brand.
What’s new though with my favorite, the liquid foundation, is that they have improved the formulation with 5 unique micro-pigments to suit Asian skin, with SPF 19/PA++ and various shades for cool, warm or neutral tones. Also, P200 off!!
I got the chance to re-evaluate my color in the true Match line and verified that I fall under the G line. Before I used N3/N4 which looked dark on me (using the on contour areas) and blending with other products – because that’s how good it is. Now, I needed a more natural cover so I chose G3 and it has always looked good on me, without the white cast on flash photography. Thanks L’Oreal Paris team for helping me swatch!
The most exciting news was the Brows. There are just a few Department Store brands that offer nice brow products and when I heard of this wax-pigment type brow prodct (+ liners), I got too excited. Ever more good news? It’s only priced at p400, in 2 shades. I’m reviewing this in detail but so far so great!
Last but not the least, a new primer/blur product presented by a former makeup student of mine at a workshop. I got to know and feel the product more and my thoughts soon!
It was so good catching up with an all-time favorite department store brand which gives so much options and innovations for Filipinas. More photos of the event below:
