“The Girl’ means being true to yourself and having fun while you’re at it,” said Gigi Hadid. “For me, that’s appreciating every moment, laughing at myself, and surrounding myself with everything that makes me feel happy.”
When I first got this fragrance, I told myself, this is prolly the closest thing to being a Gigi Hadid, given her admirable attitude, confidence and effortlessly cool style. I got so excited to review and feature this scent which is probably one of my top EDT’s to date. I got so inspired that I shot my own OOTD in La Union, a place where happy is!!
Dubbed a “social supermodel,” Hadid has been credited with reshaping the world of modeling in the 21st century, and reinventing the role of the supermodel in millennial culture. Through the incredible reach of her social media channels, she connects with fans around the world – over 15 million on Instagram alone – and offers them a unique, behind-the-scenes glimpse into her lifestyle as a trend-setting style icon. She has appeared on the covers of Vogue, W, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, TeenVogue, Numéro, Schön!, and CR Fashion Book, amongst others, and has also appeared in music videos and television programs around the world. As part of her ambassadorship for Tommy Hilfiger the brand, Hadid has also teamed with the iconic American designer to create her first capsule collection, which further celebrates her modern take on style fused with Hilfiger’s signature “classic American cool” heritage. I can’t help but see this iconic look being consistent in all merchandise and accessories of the perfume just like the patches that came with it below.
“It’s fun to be in a campaign that’s seductive yet lighthearted and playful,” says Gigi Hadid. “I can’t wait for everyone to see what we shot – there are a lot of surprises to come!”
The fragrance packaging boasts Tommy Hilfiger’s signature nautical theme, with a brightly-colored anchor and a golden cap inspired by the buttons on a sailor’s coat.
I brought the bottle outdoors for my senses, which is what I do when it comes to reviewing fragrances. Truly, THE GIRL by Tommy Hilfiger is crisp and fresh. I used to wear this at day and even night before the trip and I always get comments that the scent is so fresh yet brightly magnetic. And really unique given that I have a lot of floral aquatic EDT’s.
The secret is that the scent opens with a burst of green pear, violet leaf and green fig leaves before moving to the heart of velvety jasmine petals and silky muguet. Cedarwood and cashmeran envelop the fragrance for its signature finish.
The scent for me is more Aquatic-white floral (in a green sense) that’s fresh yet woody. At first, it’s sweet and quite fruity but it becomes green and truly aquatic. It’s quite dynamic really but it happens quickly. The longevity is average but I wouldn’t mind being left with the uniquely sexy signature base of this fragrance which I rarely smell in others. it definitely can be used for fall/winter, but also during the summer (think cold summer nights!)
Inspired by Hilfiger’s iconic East Coast aesthetic fused with Hadid’s relaxed Californian twist that’s laidback and cool, the campaign was shot by photographer Mikael Jansson in New York City. Words and Photo: Press Release

Overall, I am fan of this unique fragrance and I think I’ve told a lot of people already about it hehe
I suggest you try THE GIRL by Tommy Hilfiger Eau de Toilette which will be available at Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Shang-ri La, Rustan’s Alabang, Rustan’s Gateway and Rustan’s Cebu on September 2016, and have a suggested retail price PHP3,900.00 per 100ml bottle.
Fairy doll #ootd, yess!! ✨
I love it when artists help me express a vision! I wore this outfit when I attended the wedding of a good friend, Alexis and Geoff #OhYesReyes. I asked help in exploring shapes and silhouettes from my super talented, smart designer and transsisy Mara Chua. Her aesthetic is perfect and she knows how to make my body more feminine! All her wedding designs are fierce and the elements make a story 👌🏻definitely recommend her!
True to her hard and soft aesthetic, She used rubber textile to achieve the shape but balancing it with a very soft drop halter cut and finishing the dress with delicate fairy custom made embroidery. Garden of Earthly Delights. Technology x Craft. It was digitally sketched then plotted then straight to the embroiderer.

Allow yourself to be sad.
“It is neither shallow nor passive.” – Audrey Wollen
As I’m writing this and shooting this glitter tears makeup 😉 , I’m listening to Coldplay’s Head Full of Dreams album. Ever since they launched it earlier this year, I kept wondering how their songs can be so sad yet optimistic and good all at the same time. And I tell myself maybe that’s the “magic” of their art.
One of my favorite philosophy teachers back in college, Sir Pasco, posted a status in FB a few days ago that kept me working my emotions around this journey so far. He argued that most of us are afraid of being courageous craftsmen of happiness because it’s a liability – it can be lost or mismanaged.
Turning 28, and with all that I have realized and lost this year especially, I knew that the first step to happiness is to accept sadness and the responsibility that comes with it. To become constantly aware of the things that I can’t change, but also those that I can, with the recognition that I have all the will to decide on these fights, slay, and win them fiercely, with the possible disappointments and the risks that come with it. To be the best that I can be (very Pokemon lang!) in this “pursuit of happiness.”
The same way that I have to recognize how I have been working all these years with the help of people like you that truly support me to champion happiness: fighting for LGBT rights , pushing for love and for family, becoming the woman I want to be, trying to succeed and further myself in this highly-competitive industry, and just being the person I am, despite all. And of course all the things I get from these and from you and Others that truly make me happy.
There’s this comment that I always get: “Smile more often, naman. Always be happy!”. The best person in my life, my mom, sent me a long birthday wish about this last night and I prayed the same for myself too. Truth is, I am not afraid to say that I’m sad and I am not afraid to own that I’m working on it. It doesn’t mean I’m all for pity party, but I realized that it’s actually harder to force myself to be happy.
So, cheers to accepting this emotion, learning from it and keeping the “running we’ve done and the distance we’ve gone” as my alma mater would say in a birthday letter I got today. =)
Thank you for all the birthday greetings, guys!
Whenever I choose and go to gastropub’s, I make sure that the cocktails are adorbs, and the food as well. Last week, Dani invited us to a food tasting event at Tipsy Pig at The Fort, to review the newest menu.
Apart from the best-selling Beer-Can Chicken, the Crispy Pata, and the Sisig Tacos which always order when i go there, Tipsy Pig has great chefs indeed to create Cheese Bombs for example, which is made from scratch. Among the 10 new dishes, I really like the ones with shimp because they’re just so fresh, juicy and tender, followed by the savory Brisket Pares. Most of them are really full of flavors and are indeed perfect for those night out’s, long chikahan and chill lasingan with friends. With or without alcohol, these meals are so satisfying. Below are my thoughts on some of them.
Scampi Fettuccine (P 340) that’s tossed with butter, shrimp, garlic and herbs with white wine and lemon. As mentioned, the shrimp is just the best!!
Tipsy Cheesy Cheesesteak (P330)
Unlike the classic, it is filled with USDA brisket and onions with the cheesy provolone sauce (which just melts in the mouth!!!)
Mojito (not part of the new menu but had to order!! 😉
OK for me this is the best as Ive mentioned. The Tangy Shrimp (P440) is sauteed in garlic and tasty tamarind glaze topped with creamy coconut foam.
My TOp 2: Brisket Pares (P550 for single; P790 for sharing). This Filipino dish is just generously served with their special pares sauce which was so savory we had to order rice!!
Last but not the least, Half Chicken Half Amazing (P595), which again, is generously served with garlic and butter sauce , two favs aside from cheese!
Tipsy Pig is located at Forbes Town Road, Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. I just love the feel of this place esp the after-work chill vibe. See you there, YES?

Check out also all my short film about my weekend including the Gourmand Market and #GlobeNightFall or Valkyrie Anniversary, all in BGC – parang don na ako nakatira LOL. Update: Valkyrie has been politically correct and gender-sensitive when it comes to entrances and comfort rooms. The discrimination issue has been finally settled and so glad this is finally OK.
Brewfest MNL Social is all about bridging together the local craft brewing community with Manila’s budding urban lifestyle. I attended 2 of this event’s series this year and I really got to enjoy the drinks and meet local brewers and their craft – including one of my Chemistry batchmate’s work, Nipa Brew which has a diverse set of flavors. I also like the roasts of Juan Brew, which uses organic wheat and 100% solar power.
See below more photos of this urban experience, bringing together great local brews, with the country’s finest local pop ups, coupled with good music and great company.
Now, it’s October and the biggest days of the Philippine’s craft beer revolution is indeed here. Brewfest is having their biggest and baddest series ending tonight OCT 2, until late midnight, serving over 100 locally crafted variants.
Participating brewers include Crazy Carabao Brewing, Joe’s Brew, Juan Brew, Nipa Brew, Pedro Brewcrafters, Turning Wheels Brewery, with Alamat Craft Brew, Crows Craft Brewing Co., The Cebruery & Palaweño Brewery all joining through The Bottle Shop. Compliment these Brews with Bao MNL, Crazy Chick, El Jefe Mexican Street Food, Global Grub, Sanchos Churreria, Serbesa, The Burgery & Wrapped.

Prolly my first red carpet moment as a blogger in Pinas. Enjoyed the night at City of Dreams Manila and learned so much from other blogger and fashion icons. I wore a dress by friend Mitch Ochosa, with color that is quite similar to the traditional baby hues for girls, present in the transgender flag. Because, for me (may explanation talaga!! hihi) blogging is not just about makeup, it’s about telling stories (and struggles) of being a Transpinay. 😉

Thank you so much Cedar Salon for helping me dress up for this night!

That was a long hashtag but it was surely fun (especially because I got to meet Ms. Jessy Mendiola!), meaningful and insightful too – I knew that gender-free bathrooms exist now in gyms like Anytime Fitness YAY. ABS-CBN Lifestyle invited us for a quick yet core exercises by #BodyByMamaKat which can be done at home. Jesse demonstrated some of them and even taught us how to do it like a pro!
